Revo air mobility has signed an agreement with Eve Air Mobility for the purchase of up to 50 electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft as the company prepares to expand its operations in São Paulo.
The agreement, announced by Eve in June 2025, is valued at up to US$250 million and includes the eVTOL aircraft, entry-into-service support and aftermarket services. Revo is expected to become the launch operator for Eve’s aircraft in São Paulo, with the first deliveries planned for the fourth quarter of 2027.
Revo plans to integrate the eVTOLs into its existing aviation network rather than replace its helicopter operations. The company currently operates fixed routes and private flights across São Paulo, connecting customers with major destinations and high-end residential communities.
“Our eVTOLs are not coming to replace helicopters, but to expand the possibilities for transportation,” said João Welsh, CEO of Revo. “We are preparing for a new stage of urban air mobility, in which short-distance routes will have their own operational model.”
Revo currently offers scheduled routes with individual seats, multiple-seat bookings and entire-cabin reservations. Its network connects customers with strategic destinations in São Paulo, including Guarulhos International Airport, as well as high-end communities such as Fazenda Boa Vista, Quinta da Baroneza and Alphaville.
The company also provides private flights to customized destinations. Within São Paulo state, these include destinations such as Campos do Jordão in the interior and Ilhabela, Juquehy-Baleia, Maresias and Guarujá on the coast.
Revo also operates on-demand flights in Rio de Janeiro, connecting customers with high-end tourism destinations including Paraty and Angra dos Reis.
How eVTOLs Will Differ From Revo’s Helicopters
The eVTOLs are expected to complement Revo’s existing helicopter fleet, with the electric aircraft designed primarily for shorter urban and metropolitan routes.
Eve’s aircraft is designed for a range of up to 100 kilometers and a cruising speed of up to 200 km/h. The company is developing the aircraft for a pilot and up to four passengers, making it suited to short-distance urban transportation.
Another potential advantage is noise reduction. Eve says the aircraft is being designed with a significantly lower acoustic footprint than conventional helicopters, which could make eVTOL operations more suitable for densely populated urban areas.
The aircraft will use fully electric propulsion, eliminating direct carbon emissions during flight. Its operation will also require charging infrastructure, with Revo planning to combine its existing network of heliports with new vertiports equipped with high-power electric charging systems.
The infrastructure is expected to allow helicopters and eVTOLs to operate within the same broader mobility network, giving Revo flexibility to use different aircraft depending on route distance and operational requirements.
Revo expects eVTOL operations to eventually reduce costs for passengers compared with conventional helicopter services. The company estimates that costs could be 20% to 30% lower over the medium to long term.
For Revo, the investment represents an expansion of its existing business rather than a transition away from helicopters. The company is positioning eVTOLs as an additional transportation option for short-distance routes, while helicopters will continue serving longer and customized journeys.
